Around the House

If you know me very well, you know I seldom pay full price for anything. Unless I've searched high and low and found it to be an astonishing bargain. I'm a craigslist junkie - both a user and a seller. I have been on a manhunt for a playground for my ankle biters since the beginning of spring. But apparently my trigger finger is a little rusty. Without fail, I'd be the second in line and the deal always went through with buyer number one. Until...

We recruited some great friends to help in the moving and rebuilding project. You know who your real friends are when you call at the last minute asking if they have evening plans, and then springing a "Can you help us tear down, move, and rebuild a playground for OUR kids?" and they say, "Yes." Even throwing in a dinner on me doesn't make that an appealing night out with the family. And still they agreed. Thanks, James & Wendy! You're THE BEST.

Thanks for your $.02 worth too, Colin. Couldn't have done it without you.

And to our overseer, your insites were invaluable! Especially the break recommendations.

And to the birds, much appreciated. But I think we'll do our own staining.

And now...the moment of truth...

In just a couple of weeks, this playground has seen paint, markers, playdough, pizza, pets (stuffed), P.B.&J., and even a couple of movies! It is going to be a well loved item. Whether the kids like it or not (in 98 degree humidity).
