The Radanks

My sister & brother-in-law (and the cutest nephew EVER) spent a few days with us last week. Exactly one year ago, they spent a few weeks in our home as they travel on deputation, headed to the country of Germany as missionaries. I was a photography newbie at the time (not that I'm an earth shattering giant in the field now), and they were my first unsuspecting victims in a long line of "target practice." Last week, we headed out for a little updated version of the shoot. Now you'd think after a year that I would know enough not to trust a slightly breezy, overcast sky at noon in the middle of spring in Omaha, NE. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt and we headed to the park. And by the time we arrived, the clouds rolled back to reveal a gorgeous blue sky with beautiful white clouds and a blinding sun right overhead. And a wind advisory soon went into effect in the northern plains. A perfectly fatal atmosphere for family portraits. But we were on our last day together and we took a blind leap into the process.
